Challenge

In a time of need for environmental focus, the NRCS aims to engage the public by sharing the stories and challenges of local producers. For this project, our goal was to create an inspiring video that showcased the unique perspectives of both Maine producers and NRCS employees. Now more than ever, producers in Maine are making significant adjustments in the way they farm to safeguard their futures in the industry. The USDA NRCS gives producers the opportunity to learn new farming solutions and adaptations through ongoing consultation efforts.

Solution

Our productions team visited Maine to capture the stories and challenges of producers and NRCS employees. We led in-depth conversations and set up equipment to collect a variety of indoor and outdoor shots—including scenic aerial drone captures and footage within remote fields and river systems. After gathering multiple perspectives from each line of work, synthesized key messages to create an impactful and inspirational video.

Key Features

Intentional Storytelling

To truly capture the unique perspectives, stories, and challenges of producers and NRCS employees, we created detailed storyboards and got approval before shooting any footage. The storyboards included in-depth illustrations that defined essential shots and narratives to be captured during production.

Executing the Production

To bring the unique stories to life, we focused heavily on filming locations and lighting techniques as well as audio and video editing. Most importantly, we provided a comfortable environment for interview subjects to ensure that their unique perspectives were captured.
