Challenge

Our team had the opportunity to inspire our nation’s future scientists by creating content that engages teenagers who are interested in ophthalmology. The NEI Eye on the Future Campaign event, held at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) campus, allowed us to conduct interviews with contest participants and medical professionals that have a play in today’s future. To inspire the next generation of young scientists, the National Eye Institute needs relatable and encouraging marketing touchpoints. This allows students to understand the purpose and benefits of the Eye on the Future Campaign.

Solution

Our large production team allowed us to film at numerous locations around the NIH campus simultaneously. Our team conducted interviews with contest participants and two well-known and respected medical professionals, Dr. Kristen Nwanyanwu and Dr. Angela Elam. Additionally, we captured supporting footage of event activities, including an animal lab tour and a live eye dissection. The diverse range of content filmed allowed us to create a product that piques the interest of future scientists and in turn inspires our youth to entertain a career with NEI.

Key Features

Engaging Across Platforms

The video we produced highlighted the opportunities of the Eye on the Future campaign in an engaging way. Our team also produced three shorter videos that were specifically designed for social media platforms, appealing to today’s tech-savvy teenagers. We created audio descriptions for the videos to ensure sure that everyone could access and engage with the campaign.

A Lasting Effect

BLN24 played a crucial role in the success of the Eye on the Future campaign by delivering content that resonates with the future scientists of America. Our aim was to ignite teenagers' interest in ophthalmology, and our dynamic and informative videos effectively showcased the limitless potential and promising future within this captivating field.
